ASGD Webinar:
The Convergence of Minimally Invasive Care and Removable Prosthetics: Perspectives from a Denturist and Dental Hygienist
Speaker: Sarah Luetke, LD, RDH
November 18, 2026 @ 7pm Eastern
This presentation explores the intersection of minimally invasive dentistry and removable prosthetics in caring for older adults. Drawing from her dual perspective as a dental hygienist and denturist, Sarah Luetke will introduce the denturist profession, including education, scope of practice, and its role within a collaborative oral healthcare team.
Using Sound Dental Care’s mobile practice model and clinical cases from long-term care settings, the presentation will demonstrate how prevention, disease stabilization, preservation of natural dentition, and prosthetic rehabilitation can work together to support function, comfort, dignity, and quality of life. The session will also highlight provider roles, scope limitations, and the importance of referral and collaboration in expanding access to appropriate oral healthcare for aging and medically complex patients.
